A buddy and I are looking into getting an Apex SAFC Select fuel computer for his 00 A4 1.8T. Has anyone installed one of these yet or know of anyone that has. If so, how hard was it and how well does it work?

What did it do to "turn you off" about it?

 

it was very difficult to tune with, because it interrupts the maf signal its hard to get a good reading and there for makes tuning hard, just chip it

 

black boxes on german cars are more difficult to use than nice little jap cars. our ecu's are farr more complex.

Good anology...not...the SAFC is fine if your still using stock injectors. Itll help you lean it out a little bit without dealing with timing. However if you use it with upgraded injectors...and have to lean it out alot (which you would) the computer will advance timing ridiculous and you'll go kablooy
