APR + 2.0T = Grins-a-plenty
OK, so here's the story....
After 1.5k miles, I decided I was past the "break-in" period and would go ahead and pop the cherry of my B7 2.0T........... hahahah... break-in.......
I went to GMP Performance in Charlotte (great guys BTW with a kick *** S4), and laid down the ~$600 for the Stage 1 '93' octane chip. Now, let me say this first before you all drool into your keyboard, short it out and have to buy a new computer... the 2.0T is a phenomenon on its own! I have driven B5 S4's, B5 and B6 1.8T's and chipped 1.8T's.. and was close to buying a B6 1.8T until I drove the B7 2.0T... I was just hooked immediately. This engine puts out 200HP/207ft.lb. stock.... nothing to sneeze at! But chip it..... and OMFG!
So APR says 241HP/292ft.lb. after the program, and you can feel it ALL! The best facet of this program is the curve.... the power is always there, in every gear. The stock program was sluggish until 3k rpm, then it pulled good up to 4.5k, then you has a short wait for boost at 5k and it started getting a little winded up near redline..... but now it just goes. The power delivery is much better, with a lot fewer peaks and valleys... just power.
The engine seems to run as if it came this way.... the engine sounds, and feels solid, with no knock, detonation or ticks of any kind. I haven't been too hard on it yet, gonna be a little frugal until 5k miles, but i am attending the European Auto Festival at the BMW plant in SC, Oct 14-16th.... so I'll try some auto-cross courses and see what I can do against by brothers Dinan 330Ci.
Bottom line is this... best $600 you'll spend on performance upgrades hands down! I'm doing some cosmetics next week (Vortex, tint, mats, etc..) and hopefully some supension after that (any reccomednations appreciated) so I look forward to keeping you all up to date!
Enjoy your rings.... I know I am mine!!!

Thanks guys.... also, so far seems like MPG is unaffected highway (as long as I'm light on the pedal)... but if you get in it, it will suck the petrol down..
Also, I was rolling in 1st gear about 3.5k and just steped on the gas.... hehehehe.... traction control havoc! And PJTocci... love the rear too, I'll post pics once I have the spoiler and rear trim.

I'm delighted to hear about your experience with the APR program. I, too, have been impressed as all hell with my stock B7 Quattro, however was able to convince my wife (who loves this car and has NEVER "loved" any car before) to treat me to the APR setup for Christmas. I can't wait.
