Here is what APR says about the Stage II (what they call Stage I+) system:

Stage I+ software, along with larger fuel injectors, provides even more horsepower and torque, raising the output to ??? and ???, respectively. While not an extreme upgrade, the Stage I+ gives the A4 a bit more performance without sacrificing drivability or smoothness. For optimal results, our cat-back exhaust system is highly recommended with the use of the Stage I+ system.

So.... another flash of the ECU, larger injectors, and a cat-back exhaust...... then Stage III is a K04 turbo, ECU flash, Injectors, Exhaust, Intake, and possibly more.... we will have to wait and see... no one has an exhaust manifold adapter for the K04 to adapt to the B7...... can't wait!

Talking to some guys, the Stage II should bring around 270-290HP, 320TQ and the stage 3 with a turbo upgrade, injectors, intake & exhaust may push it near 390 - 400! This will definately be an engine to watch. Just with the stage 1, I can step on the gas in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and drive the DSP crazy (of course I have all-season tires and not performance)! I would really like to hear from someone with a 2.0T Quattro and see if the torque steer is as bad.... I would assume not, but ya never know!

Fastex - Zero torque steer on my 2.0T QM. It's in the shop for a couple of days (the rear lip spoiler came loose and the dealer wanted to send it to their body shop to fix) and they gave me a T2.0 Q-tip for a loaner. No torque steer on that, either.

I will say that the tip may well be the sweetest automatic I have ever driven. It seems as though the car loses absolutely nothing by not having the 6-speed manual. However... the whole tip thing got old after about three minutes... I just popped it back in drive.

All you guys who are moding your 2.0t including me when i pick it up this week...(only 16 years old) but.... doesnt it like void the warranty when you do anything to it?

what do you guys have to say abut that? voiding the warranty .. (if you have one< asuming you do) and putting aftermarket stuff on..

basicly im thinkin i can put a chip in .. and that is all i can get away with.[sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=feedback.gif]

Just do the chip and injectors (stage 1+), wheels, and suspension if you don't get a sport model, and you'll be money.

Before you go with APR, you should look into GIAC and REVO. It looks like they will be puttin down like 10 more hp then APR. REVO got almost 260 bhp out the A3, but the b7 #'s will be slightly lower.

Deff do not tell him about the chip and injectors, and make sure you switch it back to stock mode before you take it to the dealer.

Exactly Flyinb501 and Fobia.... depending on the dealer, and how well you know the service guys, they can nullify your warranty if you modify the ECU or any major component.

The chip is well worth the risk, in my opinion. Most chip manufacturers allow for a switch between stock and chipped modes. With APR you have a sequence to enter into the cruise stalk with the engine off and it engages the different programs... BUT, any good Audi technician will know how to access it if they have a reason to look for it (IE. major problems, engine, etc..) So, the only way around it completely is to purchase a 2nd ECU and swap them out if you have to have major work done.

In the end, bottom line... yes, it does void the warranty as far as Audi is concerned, but you have to make the decision and decide if the risk is worth the gain.
