Default APR DV?

Check it, yo: http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/r1.html

I'm going with an APR chip, a GIAC tip chip, and then a DV. Or maybe the DV first, since I know chips + stock DV aren't friends. I do have a question about the APR DV though -- Brian reccomended a DV that has springs in it, and I don't think this one does... what difference will it make?

that is a great dv from what i have heard. your stock dv will work with a chip for a bit but over time it will fail.

Yeah, I'm going to talk with APR and see if I can get a slight discount if I buy the chip and the DV at the same time. There's a shop that's 4 miles from my house. I guess I can have them install both together.

i'd skip that one. its a diapragm dv and i prefer piston stlye. The main difference between the two is diaphragm valves will have marginally quicker response at the expense of durability and slightly increased susceptibility to flutter. this DV will certainly do the job but for that price i'd skip it and get a forge 007 w/ a spring kit

But don't piston DV's tend to lock up more frequently? I mean, in terms of durability, a diaphragm definitely looks more appealing. But the susceptibility to flutter increases as the compression of the turbo does, right? Right now I'm just using the stock turbo, but if I throw in a bigger turbo, will there be a noticable difference between the diaphragm and the piston?
