APR OR GIAC
So i have a Apr chip on my car and have had for a while. i am happy but have heard good and horrible things about it but nothing but good things about GIAC. Since i have had problems with my car, i ended up buying a new ecu so i have a spare ecu sitting round. Thinking bout getting the giac on it if its gonna be a better option. What do you all recommend? if nothing ill prob put on ebay or something.
Whats good and bad about either?
Its a 98 1.8 if you all need to know.
Thanks Ya'll

Use the search and type in GIAC or APR, or both and youll find litteraly endless amounts of info on the topic.

I cant believe im doing this...
APR is more smooth and the power is more spread out over the power band. GIAC is more "punchy"/"put you in your seat" feeling. GIAC's power comes on more stong in the lower rpm's and delivers most of its power down low which is more fun for city driving which is the type of driving most of us do. I have driven an APR tuned a4 before and those are the main differences.
Just in case any B7 owners stumble in here, this seems to be the popular opinion (above) of GIAC vs APR for the OLDER model cars.
For the B7's, APR is definitely preferred by most over the GIAC for performance as well as versatility with their lock-out security feature.
My.
Two.
Cents.
