Default attaching rings

My A4's trunk was badgeless when I bought it. I have all the original badges for it though. I want to re-attach the rings. What should I use to make it stick that will allow it to stay on real good but if I decide to take it off later won't ruin the paint on that spot? Thanks.

If you want to reattach the rings, and then later decide to remove them, you're almost guaranteed to have some kind of damage. Either it'll pull the paint off or some of the adhesive won't come off. Just make up your mind now and stick to it.

As far as adhesive, I thought rings had their own thing where you just peel off the cover then stick on. If you don't have adhesive already applied, you can just get some 3M Super 77 spray adhesive (available at any home improvement or paint store), it's like the duct tape of spray adhesives. It's made for easy lightweight applications like that. You can thoroughly clean the place where the rings will go, put the rings outward-face down on newspaper, spray it up, then stick it (and be prepared to hold it).

ifyou just buy the rings from the dealer I think they come with adhesive already on them and you can take it off whenever its not gunna hurt the paint at all, so many people take the badges of

Thanks for the replys. I don't want to buy the rings again since I already have them. My dad recommended to use double sided 3M tape. As that is what he used to use in his car accesories and detailing business. I guess I will try that. But i won't be able to do it until it gets warmer or it will fall off. Not something I need to rush and do I just wanted to know for future refrence. Thanks again!

I thought about double-sided tape, but the tape needs to be cut to fit and the wrong tape might look bad. Some tapes have a thickness (like 1/16") and after applying the rings, they might not be flush with the body.
