Soo I own a 98 2.8qm. Just got a call back from the mechanic, says there is no fixing 2nd gear bushing were shot,the speedo wont work because of the pieces of the gear that were slosshing around. Need's another 02 sensor just problem after problem. If ne one wants an audi that need's a new tranny PM me. Im done with this car its just horrid.

There is always someone out there looking for a project. If you are serious, I may even consider it depending on price and how much it costs to ship it down here to me.

How much did your mechanic quote you? You looking at like $2,500 for everything?
I really don't blame you man, I have the same car and if the tranny went out, I would have to think about what I really want to do with the car. Think about it though, maybe you put out $3k and sell for $6k when fixed. Your getting $3k back at least, instead of taking a $6k loss.

 

Where are you located? What are the details of the car other than the two problems you mentioned?

my tranny blew in my 1.8 so i bought a trans out of a 2.8 that had 45k miles on it. payed 1050 dollars for it. thing is straight as hell. much nicer than the 1.8T trans. Got it in the Bronx from a wholesaler.
