audi a4 2.8 Exhaust spit water
i have a 97 audi a4 2.8 and have problem starting the car. when i manage to get it started, the exhaust spit water when i floor it. any idea what is wrong with it? i was told that it might be the head gasket or something but does this affected the starting engine part? i am new to the audi world. thanks
I recently change all 6 sparkplugs. When I examine it today, the 5th sparkplug was not producing sparks. When engine starts, a puff of black smoke came out followed by white. The smoke goes away in a short period. I think I was pumping too much gas into the engine. When engine starts I can drive the whole days without having problem (if I don’t turn it off). Could this be the coolant temperature sensor? Concerning water being spit out, could it be a coolant leakage? I really love my Audi so I don’t want to give it up, it’s a one of a kind. Thanks
there might be some problem with the wiring. i had this problem in my ford f350 diesel and had to take to the dealer
I have the similar problem with my audi a4. When I start cold it spits out water from the exhaust but after driving for a while it goes away. It comes back though when the vehicle is stationary for 10min+ then is followed by a loud and distinctive ticking sound from the engine. Very Weird.
Try some additives in the coolant for head gasket leaks or other cooling system leaks. It might work and is inexpensive. didnt work for me though. Good luck...and i feel you pain..
