Audi A4 ABS flashing urgent question
hi
i just got my audi a4 1999 Tdi nearly 2 weeks ago ,and now the Abs light has flashed when driving on 2 occasions on these times the abs is not working , i heard this could be the abs module which is a common problem with A4 , the light stops flashing if you turn the engine on and then off. any idea of the costs of repair and what the specific problem is , if it is a manufacturing problem why cannot it be repaired for free . , but i doubt this as the car is 7years old
any help or advice would greatly be appericiated . also info on any other common problems with the 99 A4
ps what would happen if i didnt get this problem fixed for a while

It could be something simple as a wheel speed sensor or the ABS control module. You say your ABS didn't work, if your wheels lock up regularly then it could be the hydraulic pump (pray its not) My ABS control module has been faulty for the past four months, my brakes work fine, Ive even tried locking the wheels at high speeds and its never happened so I'm just gonna ignore it till I can have it rebuilt.
^same here man, It's probably the abs modual, it seems to be a re-occuring problem in these cars. If you have the money get it rebuilt becuase there's no point in buying a new one, unless you're willing to drop about a $1,000 on it. It could also be sensors. You have to remember that you're driving an audi, so if anythings wrong it's going to tell you. (In most cases)
Also, you asked about any other common problems, and the major one is, THE TIMING BELT! If you haven't had that changed and you're around, 90-100K, get it done yesturday. Cause if it goes you are fu*ked! Ohhh, and from what I understand, there is a thred on here about ABS modual repair and it cost like $250, which isn't that bad, here is the link:
