Default audi a4 advice??

So, im looking at purchasing my first audi and i was looking for some advice on what to get. Im looking for an a4 and needed to know which year (96-01) have had the least amount of problems? I know that they are all very good cars , just dont want to deal with the cost of repairs.. Thanks for the help!

I would suggest a B6 or B7! They are reasonably priced and you can get one around 8-16 grand. If you are worried about repairs then I would walk away from Audi's. I just spent $2000.00 on regular maintenace (timing belt, belt tesioner, water pump, and valve cover gaskets). If your audi does break down there are only a few Audi dealerships around. My audi dealership is 40 miles away so I opted to take it to the VW dealer and strangely they say they cant do some things that deal with the computer. So in a nutshell, dont do like me, I saw a pretty B6 a4 and didnt do my research and its costing me dearly! So, please do your homework!

I prefer the b5 model but they're all nice it all depends on what you want the car as like if you want something to work on and make faster get the 1.8t if you want something more reliable and won't have to worry about a turbo issue<-$$$ then get the 2.8 they are reliable I've had mine for 2 years and all I had to replace was a control arm and tires I love my 2.8 good luck with your search but whatever you decide I'm sure you will love it
