Default Audi a4 double din

im looking to purchase a pioneer avicd1 navigation system. i dont know how much you guys know about stereos but from what i was told im going to have to rewire my entire car and replace the speakers because of the factory amp. is there any way i could replace the speakers without having to rewire the car? and does anyone know where i could get a double din dash kit for the car? thanks

the dash kit doesn't exist. it has to be custom made for the a4's whether it be b5 or b6. any decent stereo shop should be able to do this for you.

i had an alpine head uint installed in my 02 a4 and i just went to car toys , they charged me about 100 (Thats not taht bad becuase it took about 7 hrs of actual work) because they had to make a custom dash kit and rewire the speakers and he thought taht he owuld have to bypass the factory bose amp but he ended up not having to . its soo much louder now because the alpine head uint is working with the factory amp to give the speakers alot of power. and the dash kit looks really good. i have pics if you wanna see em .

Sorry to resurrect this old timer but i too was looking into buying a nav/stereo system for my car and the pioneer avicd2 is under $700 some places and was wondering if anyone had any luck in putting one of these in. Red lights of my bose head unit, i will miss you but i wanted something a bit more 'updated'. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an 02' a4 Avant... yeah i know, AWESOME! ;-)

thanks again for your help.

depends if you have bose or not. I had non bose system. Running alpine 4 channel to boston acoustic speakers front and rear. Rear is easy because the amp is back there, used stock front wires.

I do indeed have the Bose system (the 6 disc changer one). So does this mean that that particular head unit isnt going to work in my sweet lady with the stock (Bose) speakers and amp? Please tell me for once in my life things are going to go smooooothly... pretty please?
