Default Audi A4 Specs and Tech

I am looking at getting an Audi A4. I am going to get the 96-01 Body style. I want AWD and performance. I dont care much if it is out of the box performance. Like add a BOV and downpipe. I want that hardcore BOV sound and I want some power with some moderate bolt ons. Nothing crazy. I have owned alot of modified cars from civics to benz. I want to know a couple things. for each year and trim the power/weight/torque specs. I need to know which are easier to get power out of with light modifications like I talked about. links are much appreciated.

lol yea stay away from the BOV subject!! Audi's use diverter valves and although they do the same thing the audi HAS to have the air recirculated

Go with the 1.8T before 01 the motor'scame withforged internal's so they a bit better for modding. Audi's dont use BOV they use DV's (Diverter Valves) so you wont get the same sound but you will hear it after some mods are done. Intakes are pretty much useless so dont bother with that unless you go big turbo. Chipping these cars does wonder's as far as power/$$$ goes. Just search the subjects and you will recieve MASS amount's of knowledge. Welcome to AF

AEB engine code (97-99.5) have forged rods but they arent the type of forged internals that you would want with a monster setup so i think its pretty pointless to even mention it. If you intend to mod, whats more beneficial is the fact that pre 2000 models arent DBW and they dont require a sensor in the intercooler which can cause problems when using a MBC with a big turbo setup. Forget the BOV idea. Read this : https://www.audiforums.com/m_393146/tm.htm

If you go to cars.com and click on the research page it will give you a ton of specs on the car you want. Just spend some time searching before you ask.
