audi a4 v6 2.8 liter vs trans am v8 5.7 liter
I am a bit confused for an audi a4 looking like such a small car, is it the all-wheel drive?
fuel economy
1999 Pontiac Firebird / Trans Am
8 cyl, 5.7 L, Man(6), Premium
Fuel Type Premium Gasoline
MPG (city) 19
MPG (highway) 28
MPG (combined) 22
vs
Lockup / automatic (5 speed),
6 cyl, 2.8 L, Premium Gasoline,
Fuel Type Premium Gasoline
MPG (city) 17
MPG (highway) 27
MPG (combined) 21
can somenoe tell me where all the fuel gets consumed on the audi? is there really that much weight diff or what>>???

It really all depends. I know for a fact that I drive my 2.8 ***** to the wall and still manage 22mpg in the city. don't ask me how. The firebird or any amarican v8 for that matter only gets those number being driven by your grandma. I know this cus I've had both. Also. look at the rpm's that the trans is spining at 80mph vs. the audi. about 2000 vers, at least mine 3400 rpms. that about explains it.

i guess the gears explain it....
i own a 3.8 v6 mustang and it doesn't waste as much gas as the audi does but then again it is stick shift. I am driving the audi in mexico and there are a lot of stop and goes, i rarely go avobe 45 miles per hour wich is where the rpm falls into 1500 or around. I also have a check engine light on which might explain the terrible gas millage, i will also check the tire pressure.
also off topic can somoene tell me where the heck the hole for the transmission oil is at???
