AUDI FACTORY EXTENDED WARRANTY

AUDI FACTORY EXTENDED WARRANTY
Here's the situation: I've got a buddy of mine with an '02 A4 1.8TQ, stick shift w/ 50K miles on it and the dealer has offered him an extended warranty for $750/yr.
He's had a lot of little crap go wrong with his car, but he'd like to keep it for 2-3 more years.
So my question goes out to all of you, especially those of you who are in this situation or soon to be, would you buy this warranty and please explain your reasoning for this?

No. My 2001 1.8t Q has 72,000 mi. I replaced an air filter, pollen filter , spark plugs and tires since the waranty ran out. I doubt any of these would be covered under the extended plan. Find a good independent mechanic.

No, I have a 2001 A4 1.8TQ with 115,000 km and all the things that failed were never covered under warranty.
Keep in mind that most extended warranty has a deductible. So, if the deductible is 1/2 of the warranty cost, you better off paying the whole thing.
If the car is actually giving him problem, I suggest trading it in.
I bought my car 6 months ago and so far no major problem. I do my own mechanical work now since I found out how expensive it was to get the dealer do it. Buy yourself a VAG COM and a Bentley, it will save you some cash in the future.
