Default Audi newbie questions

Hi all,
Know from experience that these forums are the best place to get good car info.
Spent a few years on the Infiniti boards, now to Audi...
Just bought a 2003 1.8T Quattro, 5 speed, sport package, with 34.5K miles. Black on black. (I live in CA, no summer heat issues on Central Coast)
Sweet car. Putting a chip in might be a future option, but car has pretty good kick as is.
Would something like a Neuspeed chip add anything to the top end, or is it more for acceleration?
I'm also assuming this will void what's left of my 50K mile fix-all warranty. (a big consideration)
Does it interfere with the 100K Warranty?

Also, what goes wrong on these cars over time? Things to look out for? (FAQ?)
This was a lease return, so well-maintained.

TIA!

the neuspeed chip is crap...go with giac, apr, revo, or mtm...giac and apr are both very popular and give you much more top end power and even more torque. they have flash programs now that allow you to hide the chip if you need to have any warranty repairs done, they cost extra.

EDIT: there is no completed FAQ as of late, but there will be soon.

Chips dont' just void warranty work. They will only void it if it is the cause of the problem you are claiming.

LOL -it's Mr. Snak (name follows me everywhere)

Timing belts- Audis have crucial motors?
The groan from the gallery indicates rubber belts on a crucial motor (valves don't clear).

Wishful thinking that the Germans would use a chain, not belt, but not a problem if you know when to replace.
Anyone know when this is for a 2003?
