To reset the sevice light on a B5:
Pushright button in and hold
Turn key so dash lights up
Push left button in
Service should be for 10,000 mi.
These buttons are between the speedometer and Tach.

 

ironman, I don't pay $50 and WalMart does the synthetic oil change.
I pay them $40 and supply the Mann 94025 oil filter.

Just go to autozone or kragen and get 5 quarts of Mobil 1 0w40. Also...get the Mobil 1 oil filter...I believe the part number is M - 0301. Just use the book they have there to clarify the number. The filter will be BIG.

As for the skidplate, itwon't be that hard unless you have never opened a door in your life and don't the concept of a slight wrist turn. You will need to have skills with a flat head screwdriver. You could even use a quarter, if you are not comfortable with a screwdriver..........

 

The $50 includes a new drain plug and washer for it. I think I am going to order the filter, plug and ring from there. Ill just get mobile 1 from my local Target/ Walmart though
