Default audi stop ur whining....

my a4 keeps making a whinning noise sounds like a belt or fan, best way to explain it is its the same sound ur car usually makes when you turn your steering wheel to extreme left/right...

but this sound is constant while driving, louder when accelerating, louder when cars cold too, and changes pitch when the wheel is bieng turned

what do you guys think it is...???

first one to guess gets a free audi a4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (audi a4 not included :P )

my car:

1996 audi a4 n/a 1.8L

what year is your audi? i've had the same sensation when starting out in first and shifting to second. its the same feeling as though you had the steering wheel fully deflected. you can feel it in the steering wheel more than anything and it has a suttle hum almost.

Shouldn't be bubbly. Have someone stick their head under the hood and find it. From the sounds of things it may be your power steering pump on its way out. Could be just a slipping b elt.

Doubtful, but could be a wheel bearing if the noise is only when the car is moving.
