Default audio question

Hey guys, my 97 a4 came with a stock system that only has radio and tape player, what are my best options for upgrading it? Can I find a used factory cd changer and just connect it? can I find the cd changer and a factory h/u and just connect it? Should I just buy a new after market h/u with a cd changer in it and just connect that or what? I'd prefer keeping the h/u factory since i think the red glow at night looks really nice but id consider getting an after market one if it's the cheapest/best option if I can find one with a nice red display.

Yes you can find a factory changer on ebay usually. It has to be the one with the 8 pins and the Audi rings on the front.

Will a factory cd changer work with my existing setup though, seeing as my stock system only plays tape and radio so it doesn't have any cd controls?
