whoa!! relax guys.. lol.. i dont wanna start the whole argument again... ive read way too many threads where everyone turns on each other about this topic.... im leaning towards a dv because i dont want to switch my maf, and i just wanna stick with what the guys who made the guy used.. i think they knew what they were doing... i just wanted to see some opinions if recirculating the air with a dv would not be as efficient as using a bov to purge the air out of the intake tract. although i will be running custom tuning, most likely a custom unitronic or unichip piggyback, that will control fuel and ignition timing, from the responses i have seen already, an upgraded DV, i think would be the best solution. im stil open to opinions tho.. thank you all!!

Well, in a way they are, because they do do exactly the same thing, except for the fact that a dv recaptures the air and sends it through your turbo again to keep rpms up during shifts whereas a bov just goes WWWWWWOOOOOOOOSSSGHHHHHH......and all of the ricers turn to look....lol
Haha yeah, but they are different in that MAJOR aspect.

Just a little bit.....but I have heard that people running a bov on a stock a4 see dyno proven gains of about 15whp..............................[sm=massbounce.gif]

...prevent over pressure and blowing the engine up...
It will not blow the engine up. The DV/BPV/BOV serve only to relieve sudden pressure increase when you shift of suddenly slow the engine down and the valves are not opening as quickly. The sudden build up of pressure creates back pressure on the compressor side of the turbo and causes it suddenly slow or stop. In addition to irregular turbo speed and boost, it can cause damage to the turbo. But, your engine will not blow up.

thanks guys. ahhh... one more thing. just curious....ive never really taken a look at all the hoses the stock dv connects to... is it like a bov, where one end has an adapter welded into the intake tract before the maf, the other tube connects back into the intake tract, and the nipple is to connect to a vaccuum line??? i dont know.. i mite be completely off.. please correct me if im wrong.

ahh i see now......so the charged air from the compressor outlet have to be bypassed thru the dv after the compressor outlet obviously, but does the bypassed air need to go back into the "air inlet from the air box" or can it, oh lets say, ... go back the intercooler... so what im trying to say is can you place the dv to have the charged air enter the dv after or before the intercooler (which is still technically after the compressor outlet) and then the bypassed air would enter the tract again before the throttle body???? i know this sounds wierd and all but just bare with me... it mite seem stupid to do it since the dv is in a good spot already, but for concept sake, will it still work the same in the relocated spot i mentioned?
