Hello,
I have bought a nice Audi A4 3.0 V6 from 2002 with only 130.000km on the clock. The car had only one owner since it was new. I have got all the books, paper form the service and even a receipt when the car was bought back in 2002 for almost 400.000 Swedish SEK. (around 38.500 EUR)
The problem with the transmission was from the beginning, i couldn't change gears manually in "sport mode" (when i choose Drive and then move gear to the right to " + and - "... But it wasn't the problem because i enjoyed the car with out it. After a week i took it to the workshop to change the oil and to just check this gearbox. I never wanted them to do anything with it. They told me that its only the chip witch is broken, and that they will let me know how much it will cost, but i didn't get any other messages from them since then. It was around one 5 days ago. Now sometimes when i start the car and put in Drive, gearbox is automatically choosing "sport mode", which makes the car undriveable because i can't change the gears manually because of this "chip". But i noticed that if i shut the car with gearbox on drive and turn the key to start electronic and then put the gearbox in parking and start the car it works good... I know this car isn't new and some issues like the mekanisms on the passager door behind the driver may give up. I dont know if it was the workshop who did something wrong or is it comment in these cars... Please let me know what you think, this forum looks good and i think that i could learn something form here. This car is my first car and it seems to be pretty good lesson what not to buy haha. I apologize for my bad English. Cheers!
