Automatic Transmission Problems
Hi All,
I own an Audi A4 2.0 SE 2001 model. I am having major problems with my gearbox.
The following happens:
1. Start driving and after 5-10 minutes the car idles and stops moving and I have to switch the gear into manual mode.
2. DPRN lights start flashing on the dashboard and the gearbox goes into limpo mode.
3. I can then switch the car back into automatic mode immdediatley from manual mode and it will drive fine.
4. When I switch my car off in limpo mode, it will not start. It takes anything up to 3-5 hours for the car to start.
5. What I am currently doing is starting the car in the morning and driving to work in limpo mode and then luckily something gets reset somewhere and it starts back up 8 hours later.
I took the car to an audi specialist and he diagnosed two errors:
1. 42C2 Multi Function Switch
2. Additive mixture adaption for air: System too rich.
The engineer believes error 2 is caused by error 1.
Has anyone experienced this problem ?
Also where if it is the MFS, is this switch located ?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Raz
