Audis are 50/50 front/rear.

 

Quattro AWD is undeniably the best AWD in the world. It's been proven endlessly in professional motorsports. I don't have a Subaru however I can tell you there's no comparison between my A4's Quattro and BMW's X-Drive which we have in our X5. I believe (not sure) the real difference is that Audi distributes power to each wheel independently based on input from the ABS wheel speed sensors. BMW does the same thing but they're lightyears behind in mastering it.

why the move to 40/60

 

40 front/60 rear will hopefully give it a little oversteer, which is ALWAYS a good thing

 

Infiniti's new AWD system is very nice too. Automobile magazine rated it on par with Audi. They did a big write up comparing the two systems last spring. They gave Infiniti slightly better marks based on the adjustable power split.

 

i think the diffence between AWD and 4 wheel drive is that you can turn 4 wheel drive off when you want. and AWD you cannot.

most def...if u ever watch like GT races or whatever its called with bmw's, audi's, porsche's, corvette's etc...u always see at the start of the race the audi's jump into the middle and sides with their awesome AWD launches.
