Both are really good exhausts. I think AWE did some really good work on the B7 A4 exhausts... I have the Neuspeed exhaust on my 2004 1.8T and love it thou! I got the Neuspeed for a few hundred less than the AWE, but both are really good and I think you'd be happy with either. Just my $.02...

Its all up to you. But, in my opinion, AWE sounds way loud and has a funny groan to it. Neuspeed has a very deep sound and sounds nice. Even though I heard both of these from online sound clips, I researched exhaust for my car for a long time before I found the one that was right for me. Neuspeed is pretty loud at all rpm levels, and I wanted something that was civilized yet sounded awesome when I wanted it to. So, I would steer toward a supersprint, remus, or milltek. I currently have a remus axel-back on my A4 and I love it! Now, if you're willing shell out some extra dough, look at eisenmann exhausts. Expensive, but sounds great.
