B5 OR B6?
I'm going to be getting an audi this spring and was going to get a 01 a4 1.8TQM. I think the b5 model looks better but there seems to be alot of promblems with B5 model. I know that 2001 seems to have the least amount of promblems out the B5's but does the B6 have alot less promblems? The B6 at first was not appealing at all to me but after seeing some of them with a body kit and rims i think they look better than the B5 when hooked up. The body kits do cost alot but i got nothing better to spend my money on. My question is between the B5 and the B6 was is more reliable and what should i get. Keep in mind that this car must have a warranty and also needs to be in the range of 15k-18k.
B6 is a better driving car... I'd try and stay away from 02's, just because i hate buying the first year, of a new model... although we have a 2002 in our driveway, and its been excellent. 50K miles on it now.
my b5 has about 50K miles too, and its been pretty good to me overall. It depends... this is a b5 dominant forum... most of us prefer the look of the b5, I know i do -inside and out-. But, like I said, the b6 drives better. I dont know if one is more reliable than the other... engine tranny is the same I believe (when you're talking 2001 b5).
so go drive them, i think the driving experience will be a bigger difference than any diff in reliability.

Ive heard promblems mostly with electrical system and my parents friend had an 1998 A4 and they had a whole bunch of promblems and ending up selling it. I need my parents to co-sighn the loan so i can get this car so that fact hasnt helped out in telling them im getting an A4.
I know that buying the first year of a new car model is never a smart thing but the 2003's will just be out of price range. It really is up in the air right now to what model i get but what might make me have to get a b6 is the warranty issue.
