Hey guys... will an 2000 Audi B5 A4 1.8t FWD 5 speed ECU wok in a 2000 B5 A4 1.8t FWD tiptronic??? Please help me out, basically will a manuel ECU work with a tiptronic ECU.

ummm yea actually i think it will, it can be changed to think the tranny is the right one with a vagcom

 

that i don't know, but my friend has a 01 a4 and went tiptronic to manuel and 1,000 dollars later the car was up and running

 

It will work, just needs programed by the dealer or with vag com with a couple clicks of a button.

 

and that is why my friend is a dumbass...he tried the plug and played, thats why hes left driving a volvo now...

any vagcom program or a specific one? I'm new to the vagcom... used to be a honda owner. So could I get one of the vagcom kits on Ebay, plug into my car with that new ECU, switch it by computer and then be ready to go?

 

The kits on ebay don't come with programming and require you to either download the shareware version of the vagcom software, or purchase the full version license.
