(B5)S4 vs (B6) 1.8T Quattro
I know the "VS" has been beat to death but I have yet to see a comparason between these two vehicles.. and I dont mean racing against each other .. I mean what are the Plus and minus about them.. Reason for my asking is I will be in the market for one of the two next year and cant decide.. lol Besides the obvious ofcourse one is single turbo vs twin(bi)... 1.8 L vs. 2.7 L...
As you can see I currently own an OK array of vehicles.. but I want more speed out of an Audi(Currently own a B5 2.8 Quattro).. Looks plays somewhat of a role in this decission, hense looking at the B6...
Thanks for your thoughts.. comments...

I think it all depends on what you actually want in a car.. you really need to weigh your options and see what is the most important to you.. once you figure out what your deciding factor is it should be simple, if you want power, go for the S4.. if you want something with the looks of a B6 then cough up more money and get the B6 S4
well see thats what I DONT want.. a B6-S4 due to the fact that they are no longer Turbo.. [
] ... looks wise I like the B6 1.8T, but I like the fact that the b5-S4 is a twin turbo.. reminds me of my Supra (MKIV) .... But you are right redgoat its all about what makes me tick. although I already have a B5 ..The question that has been plauging me is why do I want 2 cars of the same shape?

If you're after a 'fast' audi, then the b5 s4 is the way to go... the 2.7T is pretty much the most potent platform available from audi.
My dad was in the exact same position, choosing between a b5 s4 and b6 a4 1.8T... although his needs/wants were not so much geared to speed.
He ended up getting a chipped B6 A4... and is happy with it. B6's are built on a way better frame though... a b6 a4 would likely outhandle a b5 a4.
And I talked to a guy who owned a b5 S4, and moved into a b6 S4... and was like "this car is sooo much better... i dont know how they did it, but it rides better, and can turn circles around the old one".
Food for thought.

also, consider the interior differences...
the b5, when it first came out, was pretty much the nicest interior in a car for its class.
when the b6 came out, it improved tremedously on the b5.
i read a review that said something like, even though the b5 had an industry-setting interior when it came out, the b6 interior makes the b5 look like "economy." i don't exactly agree with this, but i will say that i think the b6 interior is a significant improvement over the b5 interior. (there's a reason audi didn't change the interior of the b7.)
the b6 interior is absolutely gorgeous. every time i get into it, i just can't believe how nice it is...especially at night with the red lighting. i got into my friend's b5 after i got my car, and could not believe how much nicer the b6 was. audi did a phenomenal job. she was very impressed with the b6 interior as well. it's pretty striking.
also the exterior of the b6 is really much sleeker than the b5 in my opinion. (although i'll admit, i still really like the look of the b5 s4 though.)
if you want power, the choice is obvious...but if you want a more solid car with a much nicer interior, but slower, go with the b6 a4.

Why does everyone say power, If he wants to drive fast he can get in his Evo 8. But i would get the B5 s4 if it was me and i didnt own all teh other cars u have.
