Prolly about the same, maybe a little less. You can get 300hp out of the 1.8, but not as relieable as the 2.8.

Good testament to the 'European Car' 1.8t shootout. Last month. Good article if you wanted to read about these cars backfiring, breaking and being dyno queens. If I was editor of a magazine and that article was the best thing they could come up with I would have taken them all out back and shot them.

i sale a porsche 95 and i now i run an audi b6 2004, and i prefer the b6 than the b5 or the b7, the b5 is the original design, the b6 is the redesigned car, an the b7 ar only a patched car.

in my oppinion a porsche is an ugly car ( except the carrera gt )

Sweet, don't expect huge HP gains on a stock k03. Maybe 5hp. Post some results.

This is true. I'm also hoping to not spend as much as 5K in the first place. I think the furthest I'd go is maybe a K04, chip, and exhaust... possibly intake.
But u never know... once the bug bites...

To be honest, i'll probably be buying exhaust, then go straight to exterior and not touch the engine till that's done. so yeah, maybe hte 2.8 is right for me. The only problem is i can't find a 30V under 10K as i can a 1.8T; and correct me if i'm wrong, but the 1.8T of '96 is the same engine as say a '99.
That's my main issue, is that after modding a '96 1.8T, i'll have the same car as if i bought a '99 1.8T, just more mileage. Different story for the 2.8...

you wont see any gains with a FMICon a dyno. a fmic will decrease your horsepower on the dyno cuz you will never have enough air flowing through it to even get it to work.
