The bugeye ones? You guys have a different model than the rest. You have the 2.5, not the 2.0. Not sure what difference that would make. I prefer the older classic scoobies, rather than the newer versions. The newer ones just look a bit ugly. great car though!

Yeah the ones with the round headlights... don't remember when they introduced them here, 2000 maybe?

And you're wrong about the one thing, the 2.0 is what we have in the WRX, not the 2.5. The 2.5 is reserved for the STi... both turbo'd, of course.

The STI in UK has the 2.0 engine. They ahve just introduced a wrx 300, which has 300 bhp, but still with the 2.0 engine. Mitsi have a evo with 400 bhp! [8D]

yea the subarus are really nice under the hood.... i was looking at the new ones and even the new legacy which is 250hp turbocharged, etc etc... but they don't look good at all. They are performance cars.

Had no idea that the SRT-4 was that fast. I'm not sure I have ever seen one on the street, because I probably confused it with a Neon + Fin.

2002-2003-- Bug Eyes WRX(2.0L Turbo)
2004-2005-- new style WRX(2.0L Turbo)
2004-Present STi WRX(2.5L Turbo)
2002-Present-- RS (2.5L N/A )
2003-Present-- EVO (2.0L Turbo)
2003-Present-- SRT-4 Neon(2.4L Turbo)

If that helps ..not that this b5 vs WRX is much of a topic.. lol

But good luck just for kicks

AND actually if you want me to brake it down even further like this : the evo has 20.1psi stock(2005 model vs 19.5psi /2003 model)
STi has 14.5 psi only 1 more lb. of boost than the WRX (13.5psi) ...The srt-4 is rated at somewhere between 13 and 14 psi.. IIRC..

The guys here are right. The engine displacement is about the same, but he has forced induction, #1, and his car is much lighter. The wrx I laugh at, because I have an SRT-4, but they are still pretty even speed wise... and it only takes a couple of mods to get them faster than a stock SRT.

just a little background, even though it was mentioned earlier...

The WRX is the upgraded verion of the Impreza. It's turbocharged.
same as the SRT-4 is the upgraded version of a Neon.
same as the Evo is the upgraded version of the Lancer.

Now, the WRX STi is the extreme version of the wrx, as
the Evo MR is the 'extreme' version of the Evo.

The evo's are one of my favourite cars of all time. Rally pedergree, and an absolute scream on the road. I used to go to the Jap events at home, and take the MR2 Turbo on track with the other cars. The only ones that would spank my *** was the Skylines, and the Evo's. The new evo IX range goes as such, (I'd love one of these little *******. I tom one for a test drive at home, and by god these things are like balistic missiles!), although my knowledge is of UK varients, not US ones, so may be a little different...

Evo FQ300, 0-60 in 4.7
Evo FQ320, 0-60 in 4.5
Evo FQ340, 0-60 in 4.3
Evo FQ400, 0-60 in 3.5

The FQ range used to be standard models, sold as modified by a company called Ralliart, with mitsi's permission, and as such, you could keep the warranty. Subaru also have a company that tunes their standard cars called Prodrive, the company owned by Dave Richards, who has a hand in F1, Rallying, (used to run the Subaru Rally team), and now has the same role as Bernie Ecclestone in the Rallying world. They supply the PPP pack, which again is endorsed by Subaru, so you can keep your lovely little warranty.

Performance of the STI goes from 5.17 to 4.6... 0-100 time from 13.6 to 12.2... and 1.4 mile time from 13.99 to 13.44... Pretty impressive really, considering they are giving the pack away free on new models!
