Default B6 1.8T Tiptronics... anyone interested in a downpipe

inexpensive mod that will give you a few more horsepower & tower! straight bolt-on mod, will not affect your warranty or cause any CEL.

the purpose of going with a larger diameter downpipe (the pipe that runs inline before the catalytic converer) is to increase exhaust flow which in turn will help put out more power/torque and even quicken the turbo spool up.

It will be made by Fast Intentions (Danny formerly of LaBree Motorsports). Stock diameter is 2.25in, so i'm thinking going 2.5in. All production units will be NEW. since more air will be flowing through your exhaust system, i'm sure it may cause a slight change in sound, but nothing dramatic like a new muffer or running no cats.

UPDATE (06/29/06)

okay, i met with Fast Intentions today. very cool guys, nice clean shop utilizing mandrel bends and TIG welds.

the downpipe will be made from stainless steel with a 2.5in diameter. will also have flanges to make this a true bolt-on mod, for both stock and aftermarket exhausts.

the soonest they can begin the prototype on my car is in a couple weeks where they would need my car for a day. once the first design is complete, they should be able to get an idea of pricing and discounts. be assured WE will all get a better deal than the retail of $250!

once the first prototype is down and installed on my car, i will drive it around for a bit and give my impression and performance and sound. at that time i will also begin taking 50% deposits, with the balance due when downpipes are ready to ship.

if you haven't expressed interest before or not aware of the upcoming group buy, please reply here and i'll add you to the list.

almost forgot, the guys at Fast Intentions believe that the downpipe on the tiptronics maybe identical to the CVT. we will compare and confirm this once the stock piece is removed from my car.
