I don't mean modding, i mean cat converters, Timing belt jobs, hell even the serpintine belt won't come off without a huge *** special tool to compress the un-godly big tensioner.

the 3.0 simply sucks. what is your reasoning for not getting a 1.8T?
i dont want the 1.8 cuz i dont really wanna own another turbo car. ive had a couple of turbo cars in the past and theyve been nothing but headaches. Im not too worried about the speed, more so the handling of the car. I wouldnt do any modding on the motor so the 3.0 is the choice for me since its noticeably faster from factory.
And i dont think im black lol... woodgrain is just more luxurious in my eyes, but im not COMPLETELY set on trading for woodgrain, ill determine that when the car is in my driveway andI get to experience the aluminum. I'm thinkin about laying black suede over the aluminum... that would ridiculous. We'll see.
First I gotta sell my car, the private party value of my car is $13,750 in stock form and in excellent condition. I'll most likely list it for $14,000 and take no less than $12,500 for it.
I only owe $9,000 on the car so I'll have a decent amount of cash to play around with right away.
I'm getting excited..

The B6 Ultrasport is a sharp looking ride and I think the woodgrain doesn't look bad at all on a darker interior. It grows on ya after a while. I've driven a 3.0 and itfelt like a lot of weight over the front wheels with.some serious understeer when you push it through a corner. That being said,I liked how it made the car feel more substantial in general.

get the 3.0!!! i got it! i think woodgrain is standard on the 3.0's, i have it. mileage is a little tough to get used to, but im coming from an 06 scion tc 4banger. USP is soo sexy! go for it.

woodgrain comes standard on the 3.0 non-ultrasport... aluminum is standard on all ultrasports.
im just gonna list my car at the private party value... and the private party value of my car is $13,750 in completely stock form. Its a 2001 2.8 so its gonna have a lot more value than a 1998 1.8t lol.
people forget that the 2.8 is actually the more expensive a4.

3.0’s are slow? Look at my user...
It really isn’t slow; I like to call it "all-around" power... this engine has absolutely no problem going 120mph on the highway. Whether you have a chipped 1.8T or a 3.0, both can only take a corner so fast... unless you plan to drag the car, and if that is the case, get RWD.
FURTHER, for arguments sake, the 3.0 is a PITA to work on... there is no room anywhere!! I really like the 3.0, it’s so smooth (much more than the 1.8), quiet, and the exhaust note rules!
I have driven on the Autobahn and really, the amount of power US cars get in comparison is crazy… we never get to really DRIVE our cars the way the German’s do… and many of their “versions” of autos have far less power, but they get to enjoy the car to the max… so I say 1.8T vs. 3.0 for “faster”, who cares, get what you like (if you can afford it!).
