Default b7 dv

I understand you can't run a bov on the audi because it runs lean and messes up the cc.

can you run a dv on the b7 audi and still get the swoosh sound you get from a bov and not have issues running lean.

when can you run a bov on the audi?

thank you

stay away from bov period. you would only need to change dv if you chip it, and even then on a b7 i believe it comes with a capable dv (710n as of 2k4 and up right)

EDIT: any b7 tech questions are best answered by jest.

On the b7 you don't need to get a dv unless you are really pushing a lot of boost. I mean the BOV would be running extremely lean, and you would void your warranty by changing out the DV with a BOV. You should hear the whistling noise when you are accelerating, but you won't hear the big swoosh you want...Although Blitz does make a dual sequential specifically for audis, but your engine is too new at present you wouldn't find an immediate bolt on...but that is just my opinion.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i was under the impression that a BOV caused the engine to run too RICH, which would in turn result in a clogged cat, soot deposits in the exhaust, messed up O2 sensr, and bad milage.

Correct a BOV causes the engine to run rich. On the B7 the DV is different than on previous A4's. The DV is integrated into the turbo assembly and is controlled electronically. You can't just slap a new one on.

yeah but you've allready got the 710N so you wouldn't really NEED to swap it out inless you were running like infinity pounds of boost.

No, the new DV on the B7 is completely different.
