So my friend got out of the car the other day and went to shut the door and nothing happened. we tried a bunch of times to shut the door with the same result...nothing. So the latch isn't working, but I don't know why. Has anyone else had this happen before? And is there a way to get in there and look around or is the latch and everything in the frame of the door? Ideally I want this to be a quick fix that I can do, but my luck tells me other wise. Thanks for any help.

there is a c shaped latch in the the lock that sometimes can get looped over as it would when the door is shut. Use a screwdriver and put it through the loop and apply a little leverage outwards and it should flip back over. sorry I cant post a picture right now.

 

what I mean is if you open the door and look at the end of it facing outward.

 

if its cold it may just be stuck, ive had that happen to me last winter, just try spraying with some WD-40
