back on the forums spring is here, took out the wheels and there is some issues

i cleaned the wheels and then i see that there is this crud on my polished lips and it doesnt come off.... have any of u seen this before if so what can i do to get rid of this crap.... thx

Hope that isn't corrosion. I had that happen on my Mazda wheel years ago. I ended up refinishing the wheels myself ,which was a royal pain in the ***.

corrosion is what it is and not a lot you can do to get rid of it referb is the only way

Put clear nail polish on it (if you have a wife/gf).. It is the cure to delay rust/corrosion if you have chipped paint/deteriorating surfface. Its just temporary of course. But it will buy you some time.

Skibos, I was just wondering were did you store your wheels over the winter , were they inside the house or in the garage?

wow that freaking me out now ... I have the same rims, and I stored them in the garage ... I will need to check them out tomorrow...

Also did you used them when there was snow (salt on the roads)

yea i stored them in the basement ... i am gonna put the wheels on for prob a month untill i have enough to buy new rims ...

its difficult to prevent when storing them for the summer but one good tip is keep them in a warm area and grease the rims
