Well it looks like the repairs to my A4 2.8 V6 30V exceeded State farms threshold.

There totaling my car.....

As far as I know,
I need new struts, front and back (About $1000)
Transmission serviced by Audi, cause no one in San Diego know how to service a tiptronic ($475)

Would you guys and girls take a check and a salvage title, and go though the DMV B.S. about ($180 safety inspect. + new title)

Or say good by to your love, take the full check and buy another Audi?[sm=sigh.gif]

I'm waiting on the adjuster to give me the 2 figures on Monday.

Ether way this whole thing blows.

If you get into an accident that requires the motor to be swapped.

Take it to the dealership.....

Got Screwed by a "select service provider" mechanic. #1 on state farm's so-cal list.....

Any input would be greatly appreciated mates!

you dont want a salvage'd vehicle.. get another one.

with a salvage title you'll never get the same money for it

I stuck it to the insurance guys.

Not only are they fixing the problem for free (about 2K in repairs) but there only going to ding me 1k out of my settelment to keep my car.

So, i'm gonna drive it tell the wheels fall off. and save/build on the settelment check and buy another audi.

FYI

Salvage title isn't that bad.:
1.it just warns others if you go to resell it.
2. you only get 40% of market value if you total it a second time.

They fixed the timing issue.

Turned out to be cam timing problem fixed by replacing the timing belt and water pump.

No more CEL!!!!
