Bad Engine Replacement-Insurance Company now totaling my A4
If they already start repairs, you can force them to fix it all, & NO SALVAGE title. You get to make the call.
Salvage title cars suck, they are not worth anything, & hard to insure.
Decide if you love the car, or just want something else.

Be grateful your insurance co actually DID something... I didn't have comp on my car and it's being parted out by me...

Yah, 2k S4 I absolutly love this car. it's a beast and my 1st audi.
As far as insurace goes, my policy remains the same as before.
State Farm also is willing to pay market value if I get into another accedent, not the 40% salvage.
I also plan on never selling this car, so no problem there.
I just have to jump thought the DMV hoops next.
Thanks 2k S4 for the input, i do take your advice to heart.

I did get them to fix it all the way, But the salvage title is not optional because the overall repairs push it about $5000 over the threshold of total loss.

The reason I asked if they started the work, was once they start/authroize work, they have to follow through with it, even if it surpasses the value of the car. Some times you find other things while you are in there fixing the obvious thing. The insurance can pressure you to total the car, as YOU are now the one that can decide.
If for some reason, they force you to get a salvage title, they have to pay for diminished value of your car if you keep it, you can also force them to buy the car from you & get your TL payout.
Thanks for the input 2k S4.
Went to DMV, got all paper work and and inspections done. $150 for every thing.
I get to keep my coverage uninterupted. There paying me full market value for my car.
And I have in writng that if I total my car again with the new salvage title they pay me full market value of the car @ the time of said accedent, not the standard 40% thereof.
All and all State farm really did right by me.

No one seems to get past the abrasive name "SALVAGE TITLE" it's just words.
The PRO's WAY outway the cons in my case.
Wish everyone would get over it and just be happy for me that it all worked out in my favor.....
Rock on, man! I think everyone here missed the part where you said you don't ever intend to sell the car. I'm the same way - the way I see it, by the time I'm able to get a new one, this one won't be worth dick as a trade-in anyway, so Imight as well just keep it and enjoy the convenience ofhaving an extra car.
Anyhow, glad you got your baby back, with all kinds ofnew parts on it.
