is it bad that I turned the cam gear the wrong way.
now when I turn the car over it sounds like the gears are running free and not turning the car over.

put it back to where it lines up. its doin that bc if a car is out of time it wont start and by doin this u can bend some valves and these engines are easy. y were u messing with it anyways? timing belt replacement?

Depending on how much you turned it you could be up for a new head replacement, possible engine re-build. If your lucky you can turn it back & see if it will run. What were you trying to do?
