is it bad to switch between chipped and stock while driving?

Does chipping it really use that much more gas?

Actually, I got improved mileage when I chipped my car. Of course, if I punch it, that is something else.

depends if your ecu was soldered or flased. flashed you need to switch with car off, if its soldered you can switch on the fly, but APR rep did tell me its better to switch while stopped, not sure why but it wsa for mechanical reasons not just safety.
Noooo... Don't switch the programs while drivin!!!!! High boost to low boost is ok but low boost to high boost will spike the turbo and can cause you to throw a rod. I found this out the hard way here's some pics of what happens
This used to be a Boosted K20

If you want to change it while driving throw the clutch in let it idle then switch the program then go back to driving.
*That 3rd picture- Yes that is a screwdriver holding the engine on the stand. The rod blew off the engine mount when it went.*

nice pics man, must have been one hell of an experience from inside the car... so driving, putting the clutch in and coasting and then switching the chip, and letting the clutch out is cool?
