I'm gonna be 17 soon and i need somthing thats a less pricey and more simple
Less pricey than 12k? Maybe you shouldn't be getting an audi. You can find plenty of audi's for under 12k but the mileage is usually fairly high, making the car prone to more problems. The 96 12v 2.8s are very reliable. With a few simple cosmetic mods (head/tail lights, side markers) and some other mods such as suspension, wheels, tint, exhaust, you can make a very sick lookin car! Not so much as far as performance mods with those. All depends on what youre lookin for.

I'm looking for somthing with the styling between 1997 and 2001, except the 01's are probably pretty pricey.
and thats totally not true that I "shouldn't be getting an audi" because i don't have 12k to spend straight up.

You're 17 and can't afford a 12k car, or your parents can't afford it? The reason I asked that is if you're buying a car on your own then maybe an Audi is not such a good idea, yea they're awesome but maintenance is pricey. But if the parents are funding then by all means get an Audi. If you want a reliable daily driver then get a 98+ 2.8. If you wanna mod (which you will) then get a 98+ 1.8, either way you can't lose.

Ahaha, well its the german flag ANYWAYS!! whats goin down is that I'm moving to a new neighborhood
at the end of august and in gonna get a job somewhere in the shopps for the upcoming year and what im
gonna do is work all year, save as much as i can then use whatever money I can round up for like xmas &
my birthday and then at the end of the year my parents said they would give me 2500.00 to top it off.. and
im not exactly sure how much im gonna have but im thinking between 6-8k which isn't bad. To start i guess
i would want it to have decent milage and upgrade wise? I'm pretty sure I wanna go with the 1.8T just seems
like the "reccomended thing to do" then once i make up some cash back or if I had leftover, I would probably
want wheels.. some nice 18" 5spoke and to have it lowered. (no body kits i dont think, it'd be nice but in candada
we have ALOT of snow ahaha). I dunno It's just hard to make up my mind with what actual year and Model
I should go for. Defonetly somthing between 97' and 01' tho, and im leaning towards the 98'. I dunno what all those
.5 models are.. like how can you have a year 99.5 year car. lol confuses me. Becuase before I start thinking about
upgrades and wheels and tinting and stuff, I should actally have an A4. ahahah. and it kinda scares me ppl keep
talking about stuff breaking down, or unreliability.. are they really prone to breakdowns? Which is gay because I
want somthing with sophistication, style and reliablitiy and the A4 is the perfect example of that. you can still mod
it and have it look 10x better than a little rice rocket honda civic.

If you can't afford a nice 1.8t, you'll end up paying for it sooner or later. You could get a loan from a bank and have your parents co-sign, but I wouldn't do that. A few of my friends have but they're working all the time, and they're locked into the loan for 3 years or more.

Pay for a car in full. I always have but I've received some pretty sweet deals. I got my A4 for under 4k.

Have you thought about a 200 turbo?
