Battery died, i jumped it, gas gauge doesnt work anymore

Battery died, i jumped it, gas gauge doesnt work anymore
My battery died in my 2003 a4 and then i jumped it, when i turned it back on everything worked except my gas gauge read 0 and my needle was all the way past E. What's wrong?
