I'm working on a friends Audi A4 (1997) and they complained that the key fob didn't work. I opened it up and there isn't a battery in it. Could anyone tell me what battery should be in it since it is not printed anywhere inside the fob.

Which key fob does it have, the switchblade or a regular fob?

 

regualr fob. Black, lock/unlock and panic.

It just seperates with a little screw driver prying action. The batteries are inside there.

 

Ummm... Yea, I had no problem opening it, but the (watch type) battery is actually MISSING from inside. It looks as if it was dropped and the batt fell out. I can see where a battery would go, I need to know the battery size.

I have a 1997 audi a4 as well and i need to change my battery. I check the type of battery in it and its CR2032, is it fine if i go with the CR2032 or CR2025?
