Well as you know my project starts in 3 weeks, so today i desided to take it for one of the last rides before the project starts.....but come to find out that after charging the battery if the car stalls it will refuse to start again, i stalled it 2 times intentally to see if it would restart but nothing, i am getting a new battery for it this week, but if that does not fix it, is there any well known curcuit shorts in the 98 a4 2.8 AWD's?????? when the car is on it says the battery is charging, but nothing.....PLEASE HELP.......

It should only take 10-15 minutes for a car to charge a dead battery. If the battery is completely cactus buy a new one & if that doesn't fix it, then your alternator is probably dead.

 

Thanks, do you know how much one is .....like a guess.......also....Im putting a new radio in it, but the radio now says SAFE and nomatter how many times i put in the code it doesnt work.......that wont affect the new radio will it?

 

Nope only factory radio will have the code issue. If you stuff the code up 3 times it wont work, you'll have to ring audi. Anyways, a good battery will probably cost 60 bucks or so & an alternator....... couple of hundred??? I have no idea, never had to change one. Sorry dude. It may be that you need a new belt? Are all your belts on properly.

 

Yah, just got all new ones .....i was checkin out alternators they are like 200.........but i dont know which one, i have another post with them in it............but i REALLy hope the battery works, but if it dont.....the car needs to start ya know.........
