i know for a fact they dont offer the j31 for the 01 year. it is completely different from the 01. there are 2 diff boxes for the 01 a m and ch. im sure someone else will chime in eventually and say what im saying.

Ok,There is so much false info in this thread, its amazing. Somepeople should not be posting if u have no idea what ur talking about. The j31 is for year 00, MY2000. The pc-16 is for 97-99.5.

thank you audiboy, we needed someone like you and come straighten this out, but what kind of software do they offer?

 

they only offer the basic k04 which i believe is the E05 big turbo software. alot of people use the x chip for the 01 from giac bc they say it runs better then the reg k04 chip. you can go to upsolute and ask them and theyll make you a program that best fits your mods. plus it only runs 350. im thinking of going with them.

 

Upsolute cant compare with giac ko4 software. j31 and pc-16 power the fastest ko4 a4s. And the e05 is not a big turbo file, its just a good ko4 file.

 

J31 is for 018P model year 2000 ecus. It requires a fmic, but not necessarily larger injectors. I ran the bosch redtops with about 3.8ish bar of fuel pressure, and it seemed dialed in nicely. The larger injectors are needed becuase the car tended to lean out up top.

Here is a dyno of my j31 setup on pump gas.


The K31 is the origional file for the 2000 k04s, but it had major surging issues, so the E05 file was released. I wouldnt encourage the j31 file unless you really know what you are doing. This file can EASILY cause engine damage.
