so im lookin to buy an audi. i hear that the 1.8T's are killer in the audis and in the vw's. but i also hear that the 30 valve is good too. i know that there are a ton of mods for the 1.8t: chip, upgraded turbo, better intercooler. but. theres something about the 30 valve thats interesting. i see they have a supercharger kit for it. how is that? the engine isnt built for that kind of stress like the 1.8 t. wont the engine be crap in a year or two? thanks a bunch and have a good new year.

 

The supercharger is nice but its 5 grand you could kill your engine just like any other car just depends on how much u beat on it you can get a 1.8T for cheaper ushally and make it as fast with just a chip and thee are a lot more performance options for the 1.8T thats for sure. The 30 valve engine arn't the best in my own opinion lots of money to fix stuff if something goes wrong the 1.8T might need more repairs but it is ushally little stuff caused by vacuum leaks

 

Go with the 1.8T A4 lots of mods for it and you don't have to go extreme, you could just get chip, DV and exhaust and it'll be fast.

 

what is the stock boost of the 1.8T. 8, 10lbs? the chip will make it run at 14.7 or 16. is that really that safe either?
