yeah ... i'm am freaking out about this car .... the rough idle realy wasnt that big of a deal ... but then the air bag lights and check engine light ... and now the car makes a nasty sound every time you push the clutch ...

i realized that i dont even have to turn the key to the start position where it springs back to the on postion to start it ... i just put it into the on position and push the clutch and it starts up ... i dont believe it should do that ...

i am really pissed right now about this car ... i knew audis had a history and that it depended on how well the previous owner took care of the car .... but buying a car you would think the person would inform you of some things and not fill your head with lies and bullsh*t ... alright i just had to vent ...

You mean to tell me, your car starts when the key is in the hole & turned to the ignition position followed by pressing your foot on the clutch? That is the most bizzare thing I have heard. I must admit I am smiling about it but dude, I feel really sorry for you. Put on the back of a tow truck & get it checked out by a good euro mechanic. At least go in there sounding like you know what your talking abou too.

From whom did you buy this car?

Private?

Dealer?

Auction?

Used Car lot?

Mechanic/Garage?

Did you get any warranty (30 days or 100 miles)?

Did you have it checked by a mechanic before you bought it?

Depending on which of the above, you have different recourses.

ok the "corner family dealer" is going to fix the problem ... they gave me a 7 day warrenty and a extended warranty where i only pay parts ... but thankfully they are going to fix this on all by themselfs ... i am going to have them check on some other things too ... hopefully i'm getting all this mess out of the way right away ... so that this car can be trustworthy for another goood 6 years ...

You didn't give us the engine, year and mileage for your car. Timing belt should be replaced around 75K mi. You should use synthetic engine oil that meets ACEA A3 for a 1.8T.
