Hey, I checked out the oil and filter posts and went on-line and ordered a package of 5 Mann oil filters the larger ones.

I looked at another site and they had a disclaimer that the larger capacity were only to be used on specific cars. It mentioned a TSB. Looked for the TSB and couldn't find it.

Does anyone know the TSB info, or if the larger capacity filters will work on a 2001, 1.8 engine?

Thanks

RE: Bigger Capacity oil filter question
Sludging is most common with the B5 so 96-01's should have the larger filter for sure. I have heard of a few B6 sludge problems so Im sure it wouldnt hurt to use it on a B6 too, if it fits7

RE: Bigger Capacity oil filter question
Here is the TSB w/part # that refers to the larger filter:

Using synthetic oil is the main thing that will reduce sludging, and the larger filter allows for better circulation which also helps to reduce sludge from forming.

The bigger filter was used on all 1.8 a4's. The tt still uses the smaller filter. See my other post on the sludging issue.https://www.audiforums.com/m_352035/tm.htm
