Default Bimmer owner here considering an audi

hello everyone

i currently drive a bimmer 323i

before college im looking to get into a newer, better on gas, dependable, less miles than mine car

im looking into something in the area of 15k

and i wouldnt get an audi loder than 2002 because im not particularly fold of the body styling

ive narrowed it down to either a TT (any year), or an a4 (2002 or recent)

my question is would any of these cars be a worthwhile investment for me??

whick of the 2 audi's are the better choice as well

any insight is appreciated

also i'd be getting either car manual transmission

premium fuel is reccomended for the audi
as far as dependable.. that word dosent usually closely follow the word audi, they require scheduled maintence and lots of upkeep as im sure the 323 does as well

if it were between the a4 and the tt, and space was not an issue, i would probably get the tt

what year 323 do you drive if you don't mind me asking?

Also either audi's would be a good choice but don't expect as much pick up on the highway as your BMW, but if you get quattro expect more speed from the dig. My friends 328 will pwn my 2.8 on the highway but I got him from the dig until about 2nd.

Personally it is also a question of what weather patterns you will encounter where you are going to school. I know that is the reason I got an Audi instead of a BMW.

If you get another german car you really can't go wrong.

If you get the A4 and are looking to mod it in anyway you probably will want the 1.8T but if you are just looking for a cruising car with a little get up and go the 2.8 or 3.0 will suit your needs just fine and are claimed as more reliable than the 1.8T.

hope some of this might help.

I know a two seater would not benifit me in college. The lack of space would definitiely be tough to deal with.

How much driving will you be doing in college? Do you commute to school or do you use it once or twice a week to run around in? In all honesty I would keep your 323 and just put the 15k in the bank or something and let it collect a little interest and when you are out of school put that $ towards a brand new car of your choice. Being in the same position myself a few years ago I can honeslty say I should have saved my $...

If you must have a new car though I dont know. I went from a 98 528i to a 98 A4 2.8 quattro. I like the audi better but thats only cuz my bmw was a complete p.o.s. If my old BMW was stick and didnt have a leaking sunroof and bad a/c unit then there would have been no way in hell you could have gotten me to give that car up! A4 is not a bad choice but I would do a little comparison shopping and look into a newer BMW or Merc C-Class.

The A4 and TT are going to be two very differnt machines then a BMW. I'm very much for a good 3 series but will never own one. I've grow into the way an Audi fells and I personaly like it. They handel much differnt and take some getting use to. You can fell what they are designed for after about 15 mins in the drivers seat and just getting on them. Much the same as a BMW fells differnt. I would say pick the A4 in less you need space then the TT. While not as "Sporty" they will inspire a since of confadance in there movements that will make you want to wake up at midnight and go for a drive.

Go for the TT. while it might be less space, an A4 isin't exactly roomy..... I know I can't haul much of anything in mine. On the other hand, why not just keep your Bmw? Whats wrong with it? Save your money and buy booze and get drunk all the time like you should in college
