Default BMW guy making the jump to Audi. Help me purchase my 2009 A4! Thank you!!

Hello all...
As a "BMW guy", I was getting ready to purchase my second 3 Series upon having my 2006 330i totaled in an accident. I was looking at a 2009 335i xDrive and was completely underwhelmed with the interior and it's lack of appointments. I thought, "Let me check out the Audi A4. I have seen a few and they look really, really nice". Well, I'm glad I did.

After a night of research, I think I have decided a 2009 A4 is the car for me. Seems like I would get a lot more car for a lot less money!

So, here I am... going to test drive one this weekend and plan on making a purchase by next week. Can any of you experts give me advice? What should I be looking out for? Any problem areas I want to make sure I avoid? My musts are: White with beige interior, Premium Pkg.and less than 30K. I believe the cars come with a 6 year/100K warranty, right?

I really appreciate any and all advice and opinions!

Im no expert but I was in the same situation.
I switched from BMW to an Audi A4 Sline avant 2005, that has 115k on the clock. It runs as smooth as if it had 15 miles on the clock and nicer than any bmw ive had. So wise move I say. Have fun test driving!

I called a dealer about a car this afternoon. I found out that the Audi warranty really doesn't compare to BMW's. BMW covers everything including maintenance up to 50K and then up to 100K with the extended maint. plan. According to the sales guy, Audi has nothing comparatively. Ouch.

With my 06' 330i, I drove up to 100K without a care or worry. I had front and rear brakes done, oil changes every 5000 miles and all scheduled maintenance and never dropped a penny.

Is this sales guy correct?

I moved from a Lexus SC430. I was looking for a sport sedan. I've owned BMW's. The last was not a good experience, but the research showed a lot of improvement. 2009 528 was what I zeroed in on. I had test driven the Audi A5 and could not get it out of my head. Last week I had decided it was time.....drove the 2009 528, the new 3 series with the 2.0 twin T, VW CC, back to Audi....just blew me away at how much acceleration, how smooth....I can go on, bottom line I bought 2012 A4 and couldn't be happier with my decision.
PS...extended service and warranties are available, just not built into the price. You're going to pay one way or another.

I was also a BMW guy for years, i may not be in the 2004+ range of the cars but i must say going from and E36/E34/E39 the interior of my 1998 a4 is much more pleasing and i do say that the Audi is more of a fun friendly car. Happy with my change, hope you are to.

I found a vehicle and will be driving it this weekend. Being the end of the month, what percentage off dealer asking price should I offer? The car was a 3 year lease turn-in. Is there a semi-accurate way I can figure out the dealer's cost?

Thanks!

i would say search on line and compare to what everyone else is paying, it should not be to far from that. Best of luck.
