I have a 2002 A4 Quattro Sport with DIS but no on board computer. Does anyone know if i can upgrade this to an on board computer. Is it as simple as changing window wiper column or is there other elements need to be installed. Also would i be able to get the parts myself or would i need to go to a stealership.

 

Not sure what onboard computer you mean.

Do you mean the central display in the instrument cluster.

If so, there is a switch on the bottom of the windshield wiper column that turns it on and off.

No my DIS has the radio , outside temp and miles left in tank but no computer, to show mpg, drive time, etc. and so no switch on wiper column. Just the same display all the time

 

so there's no switch on the end of the wiper stalk to turn change the setting? thats weird i dont think audi even made that. has your wiper stalk been replaced? if so you'll want to get a stock one back on there so you can scroll through the different functions and turn it off and on.

 

Ye wierd thats what i thought too, i'll have to call my local audi dealer and see how much its going to cost me. Thanks

Assuming you are in the US, check out the auto recyclers, dads auto or shoksan for used parts. Afterall the rest of your car is used.
