Default Boost Leak...

I have been having this problem with my car for a while and after some searching of the site i found thats its a boost leak. The scenario... For quite some time now, my idle will surge when im stopped at a light after some running. Not hard running but just normal driving and come to a stop it would surge for a little while then settle out. I searched the forums and found that its a boost leak. I know other things may cause the surging but the very obvious audible psssssssttt when im driving is pretty much a dead give away. Ive looked around and it sounds like the leak (possibly vacuum by the sound) is coming from the area of the intake manifold. Other times it sounds like its from the intercooler but mostly around the intake manifold. Ive tried for weeks to pinpoint it, to no avail. Anyone have any idea of problematic leaks or something in particular i should be looking for in this area?

CLiff Notes:
Car Surges because of boost leak. Leak sounds like its from intake manifold area. Don't know where to look for it. Any Help will be appreciated.

Car is 2000 1.8t quattro tip. No engine mods to date so everything is stock in the engine bay.

Between the intake manifold and the G-12 reservoir there is an L
shaped formed 1/2" vacuum hose. Squeeze it , feel for cracks.
There is a Y shaped hose to the back of the engine. Check it.
