Default Boost on nuetral??

Hey ppl. Just had a question. My 97 a4 1.8T quattro boost bout 4psi when i rev it on nuetral. is it just mine or does any one elses boost when not in gear?? Boost gauge seems fine. Settles at 7psi under full throttleand vaccums at -22. Also my cultch slipped when i launched it at high RPM. Could it be that it just doesnt grip to the flywheel properly or is there any other reason. Any help???

you're boosting normal. kinda high for the vacuum but you should be fine. i take it by your 7 psi hold that you are stock??

and you are quattro? since your clutch slipped.. cause our car's clutches are not rated for stock power. they will hold dont get me wrong, but you can't launch them. AWD drivetrains create a lot of stress on a clutch. out of the times that i've launched mine i can count twice that i spun my tires

Yeah, don't try launching at high RPM's on stock clutch, doesn't work to well... recently found out that when I had my clutch changed after 300 miles driven by me (just bought car, already had 40k on it) that my dad put another factory stock clutch in it... I was kinda dissapointed in him... I mean since you gotta get it changed why not put something that offers more grip and future life in there... sigh

my idle is at around 950rm when its warm. Which is kinda high. Is this causing the vac to be high or is the vac causing the idle to be high??
